About Skiare Ski Tours - The People

What makes the Skiare Ski Tours Team tick? As a privately owned business, owners and operators Thomas and Debbie Peintner always have one ear to the ground and a finger or two on the pulse.

“One thing that clearly sets us apart from other tour operators in the Dolomites is our people. The local people who we carefully choose to work with Skiare Ski Tours and that doesn’t just stop with our own people, that extends to our product and service suppliers as well. It is essential our team values relationships, is a great cultural fit to both colleagues and guests, has experience and qualifications that are second to none and last but not least, has the ability to bring the vibrant flavour of local knowledge that can only be understood by those who live the Italian way of life, and in particular the Dolomites”. Thomas Peintner.

With over 1,290km’s of groomed ski runs, the Dolomiti Superski is the world’s largest ski are on one pass. Yes, big really does mean better. With an enormous variety of ski runs, there is something to satisfy every level of skiing ability. When you ski with a Skiare Instructor & Guide, you not only improve your skiing, but you have an expert who has carefully considered and planned the day perfectly suited to you and/or your group. Skiare Ski Instructors & Guides have daily meetings and discussions, check weather conditions and forecasts, share knowledge with fellow locals and ensure lunch is booked at the best mountain huts in the region. There is always a generous serving of fun, excitement and laughter on the menu.

The Peintner Family

It was a luggage mishap at Sydney Airport in 1993 that resulted in the Malaysia Airlines customer service agent Debbie, and Italian ski instructor Tom, crossing paths. Call it a chance meeting, destiny or just plain good luck, the couple have gone on to celebrate many of life’s milestone together. With Alina and Hugh being their pride and joy, the Skiare Ski Tour business is not far behind. Based in Brisbane during the Southern Hemisphere Winter, the couple started Skiare Ski Tours 18 years ago, combining their experience and expertise in the travel and skiing industries. “I was really fortunate to begin my working career in the Airline Industry and it was my roles with American Airlines and Malaysia Airlines that gave me a solid foundation and understanding for what great customer service actually meant. I have carried those learnings, and many more, across all of my various career paths. Thomas and I really love what we do – it’s about the people, the mountains, the village atmosphere, the friendships, the amazing skiing days but what makes it really special, is the ability to share all of these experiences – with our guests, our friends and our families. Tom has given all of us a deep love for the Dolomites and that’s priceless. It’s true when they say, you can take the boy out of the mountains but you can’t take the mountains out of the boy’.
